Applesauce

Applesauce is super easy to make and simply delicious. It makes me think of visiting my grandma, years ago. She used to make her own applesauce every time we came to her house because she knew how much we liked it.

All you need is:

  • 1 kg of apples. Try the softer varieties, like Golden Delicious or Granny Smith.
  • Around 40 grams of fine granulated sugar.
  • 50 ml of water.
  • A bit of cinnamon.

This is a recipe that literally anybody can make. Applesauce is great to make with your children as well, to introduce them to cooking healthy meals.

Peel the apples and cut them into small pieces. Put it in a pan and add the water. Add the cinnamon and sugar. Bring to boiling point and let it simmer for about 10 minutes. Stir every now and then. You can make it as coarse or fine as you wish. Also add more or less cinnamon and sugar to suit your personal taste. Just let the applesauce cool a bit and eat it while nice and warm.
